SCEE Staff Extended Training (SET)
SCEE is excited to announce our new program aimed at up-skilling the staff in our schools. As a part of the SCEE Connect Program we are now offering a Staff Extended Training (SET) Program, which will help your staff to upgrade their skills to make them more efficient and accurate in the Learning Centre and to improve the academic standing of our schools using the A.C.E. program.
Principals should encourage all staff to enrol in this program to increase the skill level within their school. Staff should have their Principal’s approval before enrolling in this program.
How it works:
- The SET staff member takes a specially written Diagnostic Test. This test is taken under strict testing procedures and will give an overview of the staff members’ current level of learning and any ‘gaps’ in their learning.
- The SET staff member then submits the Staff DE Enrolment Form with all of the information completed together with their completed test to SCEE.
- SCEE marks the tests and individual prescriptions are written for each staff member according to their test results. An individual SET Staff Identification number is issued by SCEE and sent to the SET staff member along with their prescription, this will be emailed if at all possible to reduce the time between the prescription and ordering the first PACEs.
- The SET staff member will purchase the required PACEs at a subsidised fee and should be able to order at the same time their school is ordering to help cut costs on freight. Score Keys should be available at their school.
- The SET staff member will work through the PACE, just as the students do, Scoring at the relevant places and making sure that they do all Check Ups. Pass marks for Check Ups are 80%. The Self Test should be done without looking back at the PACE and again an 80% pass mark is required. The PACE should then be handed to the Level 2 Trainer or Principal and the PACE Test should be issued to the SET staff member the following day. The PACE Test should be taken under testing procedures. Once the test is completed is should be scored by the Level 2 Trainer or Principal. The pass mark for all tests is 80%. If the SET staff member has passed the test they should continue on to their next prescribed PACE. The PACE Test should be kept in a safe place by either the Level 2 Trainer or the Principal and when the series of PACEs and Tests is complete, all Tests must be sent to the SCEE School Services Department Admin Officer, who will do random checks on your tests and make sure that all is correct.
The SCEE Staff in Brisbane will send the SET staff member a notification of their date and time to sit a short exam, either after Educators Conference or Convention, which will be supervised by SCEE staff. Once this is done and scored, the SCEE staff will process the results and will prepare and post a Certificate to the SET staff member.
Certificate Types:
The type of Certificate will depend on the level of the PACEs prescribed for the SET staff member:
- Certificate of Basic Literacy – issued to SET staff members who complete English or Grammar PACEs to Year 8 PACE Level (PACE 1096)
- Certificate of Basic Numeracy – issued to SET staff members who complete Math PACEs to Year 8 PACE Level (PACE 1096)
